Employer Contribution Rates
The Retirement System certifies each employer's contribution rate annually. Employer rates can be viewed by logging on the Employer Web Portal.
Rates provided below are for information purposes only. If you have any specific questions about your employer contribution rate, please call the InfoLine at 1-888-275-5737.
1. KPERS Contribution Rates
- Death & Disability Rate
- KPERS Local Non-School Employers With Fixed Rates
- KPERS Local Non-School Employers With Variable Rates*
- State Agencies and School Districts Rates
- Working After Retirement Rates
*an agency with an affiliation date after July 1, 1997 or with an excess benefit payment
KPERS Contribution Rates
KPERS contribution rates do not include the Death and Disability Insurance rate. The employer must remit
this rate in addition to the KPERS employer contribution rate.
- Death & Disability Rate: 1.00%*
*There is a moratorium on KPERS Death & Disability premiums during the following periods:
- 4/1/11 to 6/30/11
- 4/1/12 to 6/30/12 -pending legislation
KPERS Local Non-School Employers With a Fixed Rate
- 6.74% for January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011
- 7.34% for January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012

Judges Contribution Rates (1)
- 19.49% from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011
- 21.28% from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012
- 23.75% from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013
(1) In addition to the Judges employer contribution rate, the employer must also remit Death and Disability Insurance rate of 0.4%.
