KPERS is partnering with EFL Associates to find a Chief Investment Officers (CIO), for Public Markets. KPERS is a very sophisticated institutional investor with assets in excess of $25B.
The Chief Investment Officer reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with the System’s nine-member Board of Trustees. The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) exercises primary responsibility for the management of KPERS funds according to the written Statement of Investment Policy established by the Board of Trustees. The CIO serves as a member of the Retirement System’s senior management team and assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the System. The CIO has frequent contact with other members of management and staff, KPERS’ Trustees, consultants and other stakeholders and occasional contact with legislators and the public.
Significant experience in a progressively responsible role managing company assets and investment portfolios and asset managers and consultants, preferably in a pension system. This includes five years of management and supervisory experience in the investment field. Experience across a wide variety of asset classes, including international markets, private equity and real estate, and experience in quantitative methodologies is preferred.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or relevant field of study. A master’s degree in business, finance, economics or relevant field of study is preferred. Chartered Financial Analyst designation is required.
